What time does the ferry to Texel leave? The TESO ferry departs from Den Helder to Texel on the half hour and from Texel to Den Helder on the full hour. The first ferry leaves for Den Helder at 6am, the last one for the island at 9.30pm. On Sundays, the first ferry leaves an hour later. The crossing takes about 20 minutes.

Buying a ferry ticket

There are two ways to buy a ferry ticket: online on the TESO website or at the ticket office at the ferry harbour in Den Helder. Are you buying your ticket at the ferry port and travelling by car? Then make sure you are at the ferry port well in advance. Your ticket is a return ticket, on the way back you can just drive or walk onto the ferry.
