In the south of Texel are the Horsmeertjes. These are small lakes around where wet dune valleys form. There are beautiful plants and rare birds here. Birds such as the bittern and the bearded reedling can be seen here. A real adventure!

We have mapped out a 3.8-kilometre walking route that allows you to enjoy the landscape to the full. Dogs are welcome on this route (on a lead).
