Experience Texel on horseback! On Texel you will find beautiful riding routes for every horse lover. Whether you prefer galloping over the beach, riding through the woods or exploring the dunes, there is always a route to suit you. The routes are well signposted. Driving routes can be recognised by a horseshoe and bridle routes by a sign with a horse and rider. Discover the most beautiful bridleways for a wonderful outdoor ride on the island.

Texel Dune and Beach Ride (18.9 km)

This outdoor ride is perfect for those who like variety; you ride through the dunes, the forest and over the beach. Ride through the impressive Texel nature and enjoy the fresh sea air!

The route is accessible all year round, but from 1 May to 1 October horses are only allowed on recreational or sports beach from sunrise to 10.00 am and from 7.00 pm to sunset.

Eight through the Texel Pines (12.6 km)

Discover the beautiful green forest of the Texelse Dennen near De Koog with this route. By local riders, it is also called the Hillpath. A lovely 12.6 km round trip, for when you have a little less time. Highly recommended for those who love forests and nature!

Route Forest and Beach through the Texel Pines (15.4 km)

This route takes you along sandy paths through the forest, along the dunes and open heathlands, from Paal 15 to Paal 12, ending close to the beach. A varied and unforgettable ride you definitely don't want to miss!

From Paal 15 to Paal 17 in the Texelse Dennen (15.1 km)

Experience Texel's nature in a special way with this route through the Texel Dennen. You ride along sandy paths through woods, along dunes and heathland. Perfect for the adventurous rider who likes variety!

Ride through the woods of Texel (20.3 km)

For a long ride through the beautiful forests of Texel, this 20.3 km route is highly recommended. Discover the versatile nature reserve and experience the peace and quiet of the island in a unique way.

Tip: pay close attention to the tides, check the tide table for that. At low tide, the beach is wide and hard, making it excellent for galloping!
