Texel Culinair 2023 Robin Waerts 4

Texel Culinair

The fourth weekend of September, the Dorpsstraat in De Koog will become one large open-air restaurant! The next edition of Texel Culinair will take place on 26, 27 and 28 September 2025.

Culinary delights

Texel Culinair is a three-day culinary event in the center of De Koog. In these days, around 100 different little dishes will be produced by the head chefs of around 20 Texel restaurants, beaneries, pubs and catering companies.

As a visitor, you can fully enjoy these culinary delights, prepared with products from the island.

Theme

Texel Culinair has a theme every year. This theme is incorporated into a dish. Each participant gives their own interpretation to this dish. A special dish for everyone.

After goose, beef, seaweed and vegetables, fish and autumn, the organisation has chosen the theme Colour in 2024. Colour is a broad theme, which requires a lot of creativity from chefs. The organisation invites participants to experiment with a palette of colours in their dishes, such as colourful herbs and edible flowers. And after all, eating a wide variety of fruit and vegetables of different colours provides the greatest variety of vitamins and minerals. Of course with a Texel twist, because Texel Culinair is of course all about ‘tasting on sien Tessels!''

Contest

The dishes of the participants are judged by an expert jury on various criteria such as; ingredients, taste, color and presentation. In addition, the jury also pays attention to hospitality, hygiene, layout of the stand, the use of Texel products and professional competence.

Award ceremony

The award ceremony will take place on Sunday evening. Use of this culinary battle: who creates the most beautiful dish with typical Texel ingredients? The jury awards different culinary awards to the participating restaurants: the best dish, the best participant and the best theme dish.
