In Maritime and Beachcombing Museum Flora you experience the tough world of beachcombing, pilotage and rescue and fishing.
According to the Texel beachcombers, Flora is the first and largest beachcomber museum in the world. The heart of the exhibition is a colorful collection of objects that have washed up on the beach of Texel over the past 75 years. The large number of crazy, funny, fun and special attributes will amaze you.
The many special objects in the large outdoor area and the courtyard were partly fished by Texel North Sea fishermen. Anchors, buoys, rudders; even real aircraft engines. You don't know what you see!
Maritime and Beachcombing Museum Flora is completely set up for family outings. For children there is a treasure hunt through the museum, there are games and they are allowed in a real rescue capsule. Children can enjoy themselves for hours in the large playground with a play tower, swings, stand-up seesaw, a 30-meter cable car and a large playground. Here you will also find picnic tables, where you can eat and drink your own snacks. There is also a museum café and a cozy terrace.
