A farmhouse with a special history. From 1786, the occupation history of the stolp seems to be reasonably documented. During World War II, there were people in hiding in the stolp, then used as a barn.

The bunker played an important role during the Georgian Uprising. Most bunkers were demolished after the war. Texla was the most robust and remained standing. The bunker is open occasionally.

This mill on the grounds of Museum Kaap Skil first served Zaandam. In 1902, the mill moved to Oudeschild, where it is still in use today, grinding Texel flour.

This country mansion still features all the “mod cons” installed by its owner – in 1787.

In the 18th century, this garden was an attraction, famous for its fruit and vegetables. Its original design is still visible today.

View this authentic Texel farm, built in 1837; it has been said that it once housed a pub for sailors and other people from the ships in the Rede van Texel.

This farmhouse has not been used for agricultural purposes since 1962, when the building was restored with lots of care, attention to detail and love; it is now used as a home.

Visit this fort which was built by William of Orange in 1572. Later, in Napoleon’s time, it served as a temporary home for French soldiers, their families and their pets.

A historic building which served as an auxiliary post office in 1881. After that, it served as a church institution and as a household school, among other things. During the war, it took care of the sick and then was a place where women gave birth. Currently, it is a residential house.

Visit a house that was sold to a civil-law notary in the 19th century, who converted it into a residential building with an urban garden.

This unexceptional door hides a former Baptist schuilkerk, a clandestine church, and its charming garden; now listed on the national historic buildings register, this church was used for religious activities until 1969.

In the middle of Oosterend stands this Protestant church. The Maartenskerk dates back to the 11th century, making it the oldest church on the island.
