At Easter, many people like to look for Easter eggs in their gardens or in their homes, but did you know that, here on Texel, we hunt for Easter eggs “in the wild”? Easter is a wonderful time to holiday on Texel! There are plenty of organised activities on the island at Easter, but the real highlights are the Easter egg hunts.
Easter egg hunt in De Koog
Who will find the Golden Egg? On Easter Sunday, all the residents of De Koog and all the visitors hunt for Easter eggs in and around the village. Everybody meets up at Dorpsplein at midday, where children can have their faces painted and pick up bunny-ears to wear. All the activities are free of charge.
Easter egg hunt among the dunes
The Easter Bunny hides eggs among the dunes close to Paal 28 too. The hunt there starts on Easter Sunday at 1 o’clock in the afternoon. The Easter Bunny hides the eggs very well, so you need to look carefully! If you have found three Easter eggs then you will get a tasty reward. Found the Golden Egg? Then you get a nice surprise. All the activities are free of charge.
Easter egg hunt at Novalieshoeve
On Easter Monday, children are welcome between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 a.m. in the barn at the Novalishoeve. A delicacy as a reward!
Easter egg hunt in Waalenburg
On both 1st and 2nd Easter Day, you are welcome to paint your own eggs at Nature Centre De Marel between 11am and 4pm. At 12.30 pm, the search for the Golden Egg starts outside. Participation is free of charge.
More information and ideas for other activities available from our Diary of What’s On.
VVV Texel wishes everyone a very happy Easter!
