Lonely Planet has voted Texel as one of the finest destinations in Europe!

Of all the destinations in Europe, Texel is in the top 10 of the Lonely Planet Best in Europe, alongside areas like Venice in Italy, Spain’s Extremadura and France’s Dordogne.

Texel has been commended for its wonderful, extensive beaches, excellent ferry connections to the mainland and splendid nature reserves. Its care and attention devoted to protecting nature is also highlighted. Lonely Planet expresses enthusiasm for its accommodation and its culinary, eating and drinking venues where local products come to the fore. According to Lonely Planet, Texel is a destination ‘off the beaten track’.
