The sun has been shining brightly for weeks now and lots of things are happening on the Texel coast. At Paal 17, for instance, an entire pavilion is being moved and at Paal 19, after a disastrous fire, they are building a brand new, sustainable beach pavilion. We list the most important updates for you.
Club 17 is open! This brand new pavilion has an upscale feel with fantastic views. Inside and outside blend seamlessly thanks to smart sliding walls and a glass roof. Inside the pavilion, you will find an open kitchen and a colourful mural by artist Marloes de Kiewit. There will be music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday: a DJ or live performance will add to the atmosphere. The official opening is on 4 April. That same day, a spectacular moment will take place: the entire beach pavilion Paal 17 Aan Zee will then be moved 23 metres towards the sea in one go. The reason for this? Texel's dunes have grown wider and higher in recent years, but the two pavilions at Paal 17 were holding back that growth, according to the Hoogheemraadschap, and ended up in an inlet. If you want to witness the relocation, come and watch on 4 April.
Last December, disaster struck at Paal 19: the beach pavilion burned down completely. But owner Koen Witte has made plans for a new, sustainable pavilion. The new pavilion will have one hundred solar panels, a grey water system and waterless urinals. The familiar feel also remains, with a conservatory at the front where you will soon be able to enjoy the sea view again. If all goes well, Beachclub Texel will reopen its doors on 1 June.
Kaap Noord is open all year round. From 11.00 am the team is ready to serve you an extensive lunch menu, tasty snacks and various dinner options. This season, the menu has been updated. Besides the familiar favourites, there are also surprising new dishes. On Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Sunday, for example, opt for the surprise menu, with three, four or even five courses. And yes, you can have a nice wine package with that.
Looking for a nice place for lunch or dinner overlooking the sea? At beach pavilion Paal 28 you're in the right place. This cosy beach pavilion is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11.00 am. They too have revamped their menu this season with surprising new dishes alongside familiar favourites. Whether you come after a lovely walk or just feel like an afternoon at the beach, you are most welcome at Paal 28.
Way up north, near the lighthouse and Paal 31, you will find Faro Beach. Located on one of the widest beaches on the island, this pavilion is open all year round from 11am. What makes it extra nice? The menu has a real Spanish twist. Think homemade paella, crispy nachos and fresh calamari. Perfect for a sunny afternoon at the beach or a cosy evening of drinks.
Need a breath of fresh air on the west coast of the island? Then beach pavilion Paal 9 is the place to be. This pavilion is open every day from 10.00 am. Whether you come for a cup of coffee with homemade cake, an extensive lunch or dinner with sea views - it's all possible here. Good to know: the beach between posts 9 and 12 was recently replenished with extra sand. As a result, the beach looks beautiful again, making it even more enjoyable.
The beach pavilions are all set. The menus have been updated, the terraces decorated and the beach looks beautiful. We hope you will come and enjoy one of the pavilions this spring or summer.
