Good news for everyone who loves great stories, interesting history and a nice walk. Our sixth historical walking route Den Burg: it started as a mound village is now available!
This walk takes you past beautiful buildings in the centre of Texel's largest village. Along the way, you will discover how the village came into being and get to know Den Burg's rich history.
‘Several Texel villages claim to be the oldest on the island, but there is a real chance that Den Burg will win. As archaeologists do more excavations, the origins of Den Burg will be placed further back in time.’
The route is only available in Dutch.
