Texel is the place to be as a wine lover, as the prestigious international “Star Wine List” once again proves. Two Texel restaurants are mentioned: Bij Jef in Den Hoorn and Restaurant RJ in De Cocksdorp.

Best Medium-Sized List

Both restaurants are included in the “Best Medium-Sized List” category, in which wine lists from around the world are praised. RJ even gets a second honourable mention in the “Best By The Glass List”, thanks to its wide range of wines by the glass. Jordy Schuijl of RJ proudly tells the Texelse Courant: "We read what the guest wants. And what goes best with our dishes." Jordy likes to travel around to learn about new wines from European houses that deliver high quality.

Wine and food combinations

Bij Jef also confirms Texels reputation as a culinary destination. The starred restaurant has been known for years for its refined cuisine and perfect wine-food combinations. Hostess Nadine Mögling was honoured with Michelin's Sommelier Award as recently as 2023.
