Born on Texel, Christiaan Verbeek is a composer and pianist. He made the beautiful album Texelodes, which has been available to listen to since mid-November. A tribute to his native island and a musical ode to Texel!

Texelodes consists of twelve compositions and was recorded in September 2023 together with Tosca Opdam (violin), Sterre Konijn (vocals & theremin), Raphaela Danksagmüller (fujara, kaval & recorders) and Cello Octet Amsterdam, in the beautiful Studio 1 of the Muziekcentrum van de Omroep in Hilversum.
Christiaan Verbeek (Texel, 1984) is a composer, pianist and multi-instrumentalist. He graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he studied Piano Jazz and Composing for Film. He has worked for Cello Octet Amsterdam, Lavinia Meijer, Vincent van Amsterdam, and for several ensembles and choirs. In 2014, Christiaan won a Golden Calf for his music for the film Helium and in 2021 a BUMA Award for Best Original Film music in Film for his work for Buladó. As a keyboardist, percussionist and trumpeter, Christiaan has played in a wide range of theatre productions and bands and has performed on numerous music and theatre stages, including Lowlands and Paradiso.
