The Zeemanskerk in Oudeschild was inaugurated in 1650. Mainly by sailors who attended Sunday worship. Among them also the famous Dutch naval hero Michiel de Ruyter with his family. Because the influx was so large, the church was expanded in 1740. The interior tells the story of the maritime past of the Zeemanskerk.
