In a minibus with (max. of 6 people), you will be accompanied by an enthusiastic guide in search of waterbirds, which winter on Texel in large numbers. Along the way, you will stop at various places to quietly observe the birds and you will receive explanations on how to properly recognize the various bird species yourself. A group of small swans stay annually in and around the Waalenburg nature reserve. In the polders numerous geese, barnacle geese and several species of brent geese rest and search for food. Can you spot the rarer white-bellied or black brent goose in this group? In several places you will find large groups of wigeon, shoveler, gadwall, teal and tufted duck. Outside the dike, in the Wadden Sea, there are resting eider ducks and groups of foraging black-necked grebes. Of course, you will also encounter many other winter birds along the way. For example, there is a chance to see fraters, snow buntings and gooses and several species of grebes in the Wadden Sea. If a rare species is reported, we can deviate from the route to look for this special bird. Every excursion is different after all!
