Bird recognition tour

How do you recognize bird species? There is no better place than Bird Island Texel to discover this! Under the guidance of a guide, you will visit a number of bird-rich areas in the north face of Texel. The excursions are mainly aimed at learning to recognize birds. You learn how the different types can be recognized by appearance and sound. If you don't have your own binoculars, you can borrow one from the Bird Information Center. The excursion is suitable for children from 7 years old and adults. Depending on the location, this excursion is suitable for people with disabilities. Please note: dogs are not allowed. The excursion takes place under almost all circumstances (with a minimum of 4 people). If this is not the case, you will be called no later than the evening before the excursion. Registration for this excursion is required. Times: weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 am - 11 am. The excursion lasts approximately two hours. Prices: € 20.00 per person. Location

This excursion starts at the Vogelinformatiecentrum Texel. Kikkertstraat 42, 1795 AE De Cocksdorp. The route is usually in consultation with the participants and depends on the weather and the tide outside the dikes.

At the Vogelinformatiecentrum (Bird Information Center) in De Cocksdorp you have come to the right place for information about bird watching, photography and filming on Texel. You can also find binoculars and other bird products here. Information about birds In the center you will find all kinds of information about birds. Such as the most recent bird sightings on the island. In the center all current observations are clearly displayed on a large map. There is also an extensive library of bird books. Beautiful bird movies are played on the large LCD TVs. And in the display cases are many stuffed birds, which you can view up close. Shop and excursions In the Vogelinformatiecentrum you will also find a shop with conservation articles and binoculars. You can find good binoculars from Swarovski, Zeiss and Bynolyt here.
