With guide Bob Schat you walk around and through Den Hoorn. Based on the landscape and the buildings, he shows you how nature, climate, landscape and people have interacted. Disappeared creeks, villages and harbors are discussed, of which remnants can still be found today, sometimes tangible, sometimes only to be found in terms of names. During the walk you will pass typical Texel landscape elements such as the tuunwal, the sheep shed, the kolk and the Peerdepad. Bob explains why Den Hoorn used to be right on the sea and what can still be seen of it. He also tells about the characteristic details of the houses in the village. The walk starts on the parking strip at the church of Den Hoorn and the distance is approximately 7 kilometers. Please note: there is a minimum number of participants for this excursion.
