Monday 4 to Saturday 30 September 2023 Solo exhibition '2 Sides' by Susanne Kunenborg in the Art Room of ZOUT. Susanne has been involved with art for years and it has now taken a serious place in her life. In 2016 she made a rigorous decision: she quit teaching, moved to Texel and would devote herself more to visual arts. Unfortunately, fate put a stop to this and she had to put down the brush again due to very sad personal circumstances. After turbulent years, there now seems to be room again and this is hopefully the start of a new beautiful period. Why 2 sides? Life has two sides in so many aspects and Susanne has experienced this intensively in recent years. The first "side": Light Tunnels, is a form of painting in which she has been able to express her feelings for years. Consecutive chakra colors are often used. The second "side": Nautical, is rougher, more figurative...more earthy? It is the appreciation of what is in the here and now and also the beginning of nostalgia. The paintings with the sea or ships reflect the love for water. Wickerworks were created to express the loss of our Oudeschild fishing fleet. The works are made from old fishing nets, used mooring lines and mounted in steel frames. Opening hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM.
