Thursday, 24 October 2024 Dressing a lady was quite a job in the 17th century. The handmaid was really needed! In the program 'fitting and knowing' you can see how that went and hear stories about that time. We dress the mannequin or maybe there is a volunteer with size 38? Children of primary school age can wear a simple version - for the photo! The program starts at 11 AM with a look at the 17th-century dress that has emerged from the Palmwood wreck.

The model comes to life by means of light and sound effects. In the exhibition “Ship in sight” you will learn everything about whalers, whistle ships and war yachts. fishermen's houses At Kaap Skil, various fishermen's houses have been recreated in the outdoor area. Do you want to know how people lived at the beginning of the 19th century? Step in and find out. There are regular extra activities in the museum such as demonstrations of net fines, iron forging, spinning and rope making. Sailors and beachcombers stories are also told.
