Music on Sunday with duo Windstreken
Sunday 25 May 2025 The duo ‘Windstreken’ consists of Pieter de Mast (alto flute and soprano saxophone) and Sebastiaan van Delft (piano and harmonium). Two professional musicians who have been playing together for more than 20 years. Sometimes as a duo, often in a larger line-up. The name ‘Windstreken’ refers to the exciting mix of medieval music, church music, jazz, classical music and world music. It is also a nod to the non-ordinary musical connection between the various wind instruments. It will be their first performance on Texel. A great opportunity to get acquainted with their versatile repertoire in the relaxed and intimate atmosphere of De Vermaning. Time: 3 to 5 p.m. Entrance: € 10 per ticket

This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
