The Maartenhuis is a living and working community at De Koog, for people with a need for care as a result of intellectual disability, psychological problems, acquired brain injury and/or intensive personal care. Residents Just behind the dunes, surrounded by the beautiful Texel nature and just outside the town of De Koog, lies the Maartenhuis, an AWBZ-recognized institution on an anthroposophical basis with the functions Stay (Living) and Supportive and Activating Guidance (Daytime Activities). The organization consists of four houses, each with its own identity. Adult residents with specific care needs find their home in the houses. Daytime activities For the daytime activities, about 30 fellow islanders come every day to work together in and around the Maartenhuis. Come by sometime? Which can! You are welcome for a drink, pastry or lunch in the food shop & gift shop De Windroos.
