Joost Ruardy exhibits
Saturday 12 to Sunday 27 April 2025 Opening with music performances 12 April at 16:00. Joost Ruardy (1998) lives in Ghent, Belgium but grew up on Texel until he was eighteen. After completing his studies in Forest and Nature Management, he has been studying painting at the Sint-Lucas Academy in Ghent since 2022. His painting style is figurative and intuitive. With his work he explores his suspicion of hidden matters and power relations that are the undertone in our daily lives and tries to put them into perspective. De Vermaning Den Hoorn
This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
