Concert wind ensemble Nieuwe Maten
Sunday June 30, 2024 The wind ensemble Nieuwe Maten from the Zaan region will give a concert on Texel for the 10th time! The musical direction is in the hands of Herman Draaisma, (bass) clarinetist of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. The line-up consists of: Rieneke Weber and Else Schaaij (flute), Ikina van der Aar and Bart Titulaer (oboe), Amy de Leeuw and Annemiek Vloon (clarinet), Arjan Sas and Ronald Bakker (horn), Boukje Jonkheer and Martin Jansen ( bassoon) and Jaap Cohen (double bass). Program: Beethoven - Sonata Op. 101 and Brahms - Serenade No. 2 in A Major Opus 16 and Elgar - Serenade in E minor. Time: 4:00 PM. Admission is free, with a collection afterwards.

Hoornder kerkje
The church is currently being renovated and is temporarily closed to the public. The most engraved church on the island is undisputed: the Hoornder church. Unlike other churches, this church is located just outside the village, surrounded by a beautiful Texel landscape. Wedding location The church is a popular location to get married. Many couples fall for the charm of the church. Curious whether it could also be a wedding location for you? The church is open weekly in the summer. Summer evening concerts The acoustics in this church make the space extremely suitable for musical performances. Every summer, concerts are held here, by international talent.
