Then book a group tour with Farmer Jens and discover everything about farm life on this beautiful island! What does a sheep farmer on Texel actually do all day? How did the characteristic garden walls come about? And how do you know when a sheep has to lamb? During a pleasant and educational tour, sheep farmer Jens takes you through his meadows. He tells you everything about his work, the Texel sheep and the importance of sustainable agriculture. The tour starts with a warm welcome and a cup of coffee or tea. Then you walk through the vast meadows while Farmer Jens shares his experiences. The tour lasts about an hour and a half and is suitable for a maximum of 10 people, so that it remains personal and interactive. For larger groups we can arrange a customized tour. Farmer Jens and his parents have a farm with Texel sheep and white chickens between Oosterend and East. Local products The sheep and lambs are always outside. The lambs spend at least 100 days in the pasture and the animals are slaughtered on Texel. Farmer Jens sells lamb, raw wool and knitting wool from their own animals. The eggs are available in a stall in the yard. When the flag is up, they are open. Farmer's walk Many of the farm's meadows are surrounded by tuunwallen and there is a walking path through the country, the Boerenommetje.
