Galerie Posthuys presents work by two new artists Annelies Deutekom and Sophia de Vries. Annelies Deutekom presents art of dogs; modeled with coarse clay and treated with oxides. Her ceramic work expresses a great fascination for the material clay. Sophia de Vries exhibits metal sculptures in the gallery window. Her sculptures are made of steel, which she welds or forges, and finishes it off with copper and soot. She gets her inspiration from the landscape of Iceland, Slovakia and Poland, for example. Dilapidated buildings, lonely houses, huts and trees. Opening hours: Galerie Posthuys is open daily during the Christmas holidays; then on weekends and by appointment.

Galerie Posthuys in De Koog is not a traditional gallery with classical works of art, but a meeting place where artists, visitors and buyers come together. Modern Art Contemporary art is presented in Galerie Posthuys. Some artists take the landscape and nature as their starting point, such as the dunes, beach and polders. With other artists the starting point is less recognizable, but above all tangible. Rhythm, handwriting and color come to the fore here. The gallery has four rooms, each with its own exhibition. They regularly exhibit new work and can always be seen in the stock attic space anyway. In addition, a dozen new artists are introduced every year. Collaboration and activities Galerie Posthuys also has partnerships with other companies. For example, the gallery has been providing art in Texelsuites since 2006. The exhibition of works of art in Bij Jef is also made by the gallery. Information about these works of art is available in the gallery. Some extra activities worth mentioning are the annual Haringnegendaagse (in June) and the open studio of Maurice Christo van Meijel – every first Sunday of the month during the summer period.
