Thursday 1 June to Thursday 31 August 2023 Exhibition of the ceramic birds of Irene Maas in Nature Center De Marel. More than 50 different, unique bird sculptures can be viewed. The images are also for sale. As far as ceramic sculptures are concerned, Irene Maas is a household name on Texel and far beyond and has already exhibited several times. She has been a ceramist by profession since 1975. Irene usually makes animal figures, such as birds, but she also makes cats and seals. In Natuurcentrum De Marel only the bird images are shown. Times: Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. On Sunday from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The exhibition is accessible for free.

At the Vogelinformatiecentrum (Bird Information Center) in De Cocksdorp you have come to the right place for information about bird watching, photography and filming on Texel. You can also find binoculars and other bird products here. Information about birds In the center you will find all kinds of information about birds. Such as the most recent bird sightings on the island. In the center all current observations are clearly displayed on a large map. There is also an extensive library of bird books. Beautiful bird movies are played on the large LCD TVs. And in the display cases are many stuffed birds, which you can view up close. Shop and excursions In the Vogelinformatiecentrum you will also find a shop with conservation articles and binoculars. You can find good binoculars from Swarovski, Zeiss and Bynolyt here. You will receive extensive advice about this. You have also come to the right place for bird DVDs, nature books, nest boxes and feeding systems for your garden.
