Friday 22 December 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025 Visit the exhibition ‘Sweets’, a cheerful exhibition with paintings by Herman Smith. Herman Smith (Utrecht, 1948) is a passionate artist. To paint, he retreats to his studio on Texel. He prefers to work thematically. In addition to being a painter, he is a philosopher. He published the book ‘Een wonderlijke reis’, a visual and humorous description of the stroke that struck him a quarter of a century ago. An incident with a major impact on daily life, but his creativity and zest for life are still standing proudly. ‘Sweets’ is a good example of this: Cheerful, colourful paintings like glittering candy wrappers, where the fun radiates from. Sweets to feast on. He himself says about it: 'The older I get, the happier I paint.' Opening hours: daily from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., free entrance.
