Thursday 29 August to Monday 23 September 2024 As a child, Ciska Rook was fascinated by drawing and design. It was only later in life that she started to take it seriously and started taking lessons to develop herself further. She has lived and worked on Texel since 2017 and is a member of the artists' association Zout. She enthusiastically and faithfully participates in their group exhibitions. Now she is taking the step towards a solo exhibition, which gives a good impression of the versatility of her work. Opening hours: De Vermaning is open to visitors daily from 11 am to 4 pm. Ciska is personally present on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 pm to 4 pm. Free entrance.

This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
