Shelter church in hidden garden
Behind Diek's houses is a hidden gem: De Vermaning, an ancient hidden church in an idyllic garden. Today it is a shelter for the arts. In the garden you will find the statues of Ceres (goddess of agriculture) and Neptune (god of the sea). The garden is almost too beautiful to just walk through. In good weather it is an ideal resting place. Inside is an exhibition of a (Texel) artist and there is regular music. Times: in principle open daily between 10 am and 6 pm. Sometimes the door is closed because there is a closed group, or because an artist must be able to concentrate. Entrance is free.

De Vermaning Den Hoorn
This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
