Concert: Ola Rud Trio
Sunday June 16, 2024 Ola Rud is a (jazz) singer with a formidable voice, originally from Kiev, where she was quite well known and loved by the public. She now lives in Amsterdam. During Ukraine Month (April 2023) she performed in De Vermaning. This made such an impression that we invited her to come back. Ola is accompanied by Catalan guitarist Joan Fort and double bassist Omer Govreen, originally from Israel. This international trio regularly performs in Amsterdam and surrounding areas. and brings classic jazz, blues and pop in their own arrangements, spiced with rhythms and sound 'from all over the world'. This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
