Concert: Black Gospel choir Benediction

Saturday, 30 November 2024 Black Gospel choir Benediction gives a concert in the Burghtkerk in collaboration with sand artist Rosa van der Vijver. Enschede-based Black Gospel choir Benediction is led by conductor André Bijleveld and accompanied by a band. André has a wealth of experience and shares his knowledge and skills with young and old. He has several choirs, but also teaches at the ArtEZ conservatory, gives gospel workshops to all kinds of groups, arranges and regularly makes recordings in his studio ‘Eastville’. Sand artist Rosa van der Vijver throws, scatters and shoves sand on a light plate and magically makes all kinds of drawings appear. She provides a beautiful visual accompaniment to the music during the concert. She is also a gifted singer and part of the theatre group ‘Musical Sand Stories’. Start: 8 PM Entrance: €15.00 including consumption in the interval. Tickets available at the door.

De Burght kerk

The large church that you can already see in the wider area of Den Burg is De Burgt church. This is the church of the Protestant congregation. A service is held here on Sundays, the church is also used as a location for events. Climbing the church tower In the summer months, the church tower is open on certain days. From the high tower you get a beautiful view over Den Burg and the surrounding landscape. Event venue The church is regularly the stage for exhibitions, performances and memorial services.
