Sculptures in the garden - Martin Griek
Tuesday 1 April to Monday 23 June 2025 In the garden of De Vermaning you can see sculptures by Martin Griek (1948), a sculptor with a permanent sculpture garden in Den Helder. He is inspired by nature and by the beauty of the material used. The shapes are often stylized, round, flowing and smooth and as clear as possible. He is always looking for a balance between shape and material. Both must come into their own, complement and strengthen each other and be powerful in their simplicity. Daily 11 am - 4 pm, free entrance

This church is well hidden: from the road you have no idea that there is a church on Diek. This is due to its history, De Vermaning was built as a hidden church for the Mennonite congregation. Access through a secret gate The gate of Diek 11 gives you access to the path that takes you to the church. The church is hidden behind a row of houses and in the backyard of Diek 11, as it were. Exhibition space The church is no longer used for services of the Baptist congregation. It is now a place where exhibitions and activities are organized.
