The variety in the work. In all the years I’ve worked here, no two days have ever been the same. And I have a really great bunch of colleagues.
There’s a huge range of things to see, do and experience on Texel. But appreciate the small things in particular: cycling with the wind behind you (it’s always ahead of you on the way back!), the sun setting over the North Sea (or even better, getting up early to watch the sun coming up over the flats is also an idea), and wonderful cloud-filled skies. Most of all, you should visit the walking areas in de Geul and de Horsmeertjes. For me, that’s the nicest place on Texel.
Rambling through the extensive nature reserves, and then enjoying the views from my favourite one.
